Item num.: es00197
by Philipp Spätling
Instrumentation: tenor recorder, 2 bass recorders, contrabass recorder
In the early 15th century Guillaume Dufay created a Marian motet with this title. Of its day it has become very popular and was imitated several times. Based on a "Saltarello" for solo recorder, Ph. Spätling's available setting of "flos florum" for four recorders, tries to capture the sound of the early 15th century, the date of origin of this text. This piece can be played and sung.
